Gratitude

  • What Im grateful for today:
  • My beautiful Grandson, Oliver
  • My beautiful Daughter Katie and son in law Bruce
  • The fact that all my medical care is paid for. I was able to go in to urgent care yesterday, sign in and never worry about the cost.
  • The bills just keep rolling in for my cancer care. But they aren't really bills. They are from the insurance company telling what was paid. Between Medicare and Tricare it is all covered. One chemotherapy session is $9000. Thats right, 9 THOUSAND dollars.
  • The doctor in Urgent Care knows my Oncologist Dr Saven. He told us that Dr Saven worked for a small biotech company here in San Diego and helped develop

Rituximab  This drug was added to the cocktail some years back and is the drug that pushes the cure rate for my kind of lymphoma to over 90%. Im grateful for Dr Saven.

Goals and Gratitude

Now that Im coming to the end of chemotherapy Im ready to take care of the 20 pounds I have gained since Mike died. The doctor told me not to try to loose weight while I am on chemo. I am grateful for this because I didn't have to put any energy or negative thinking into my weight.  Im in a very good place now and ready to address this.
I have found a program online that seems to fill the bill.  It just struck me as what I need to structure this part of my life. After I have used the program for a while I will put a link in my blog to it. First I want to live with it a bit. This is not a deprivation plan. It is simply a way to make choices that are more natural and suited to a healthy body. The idea is to eat foods as close as they were when they came out of the ground or the animal. There is more to it than that. I will share more as I learn more.
The program advises me to start with setting goals and keeping a gratitude  journal. I like the idea of keeping my friends and family in this part of my life because I have learned how helpful it is to get support in all that I do.
So, I will start with some goals or affirmations. I learned from my brother Steve Campbell, An Intelligent Heart  how to do this.  I could go back and dredge up the affirmations I set for myself 3 years ago when I began my journey to my authentic self. But I think it would be best to start fresh. So here is the beginning.
1)I feel so healthy and strong as my body returns to my healthy weight.
 2) It's wonderful to wear the clothes I bought when I was at my most healthy weight.
 3) I love seeing how my family and friends react when they see I am again at my most healthy weight.
The next thing my new program suggests is keeping a gratitude journal and  starting each day with it.

Im grateful for:
1) This stunning day. The sun is filling the house and peace is all around me.
2) My wonderful animals. Their presence is very calming.
3) My wonderful husband who has stood by me all of my life through all my ups and downs.
4) The fact that the cancer is cured.
5) The amazing medical advances that have made this cancer cure possible.

I could go on and on. But each day I will add to this. I would love to hear from my blog followers what they are grateful for. Just click on the  comment link.
