The power of prayer

Last evening   I just couldn't get a handle on the pain in my lower back. It was a constant throbbing pain that wouldnt go away no matter what position I was in. I had taken several medications including some vicodan but nothing was touching it. Finally in desperation I sent an IM to some of my siblings. I told them I was in pain and asked them to ask the family to pray. Their messages back were 'we are praying now'  Not 5 minutes after I sent the message the pain stopped. I tried moving around in bed, sitting up, standing up and it just didn't hurt. I sank into deep peaceful sleep. I woke up at 7am this morning with no pain. I had slept all night. Not even getting up to the bathroom.
I know that everyone is praying for me. But this is just such a wonderful confirmation that all of you have my back and that God is listening and guiding. It will take a miracle to untangle this maze of cancer cells from my body. I believe that we will get our miracle. What a glorious undertaking for all of us. And oh the things we will learn along the way.

  1. Well, I am sorry that I missed reading this on some of your more difficult days. I have been praying for you continually. I thank the Lord that He answered prayers for your comfort. As I read through the last few days of your blog, I am amazed at your openness, honesty and wisdom. The tr-unity of body, mind and spirit working together is apparent. Trusting in God to continue to direct your path will give you rest. Let your mind cease from striving to fix or cure or figure out. Now is the time to let go and let the ride take you wherever it will. I am glad that you are in SD at this time. I am glad that Frank is the one who can be there for you at this time...he wants to be that one. All of your family is with you as well, in love and in prayers even if not in person. Remember, I am available, but I think you two are handling it. Laurie is getting ready for labor...You will be ready for Katie when her time comes. Meanwhile, take care of Sallee for all of us.
